Websites that win work for Irish trades and service businesses.
A builder gets work from Google by being findable at the three moments a customer searches. First they research the job: what an extension or an attic conversion costs, whether they need planning permission, how long it takes. Then they look for someone to do it: builders in their town, extension builders near them. Last, with a shortlist in hand, they search the firm's name to see its reviews and its past work. Most building firms have a page for none of these moments, which is why contractor SEO services exist as a job in their own right.
Building work is a slow, expensive decision, so the search is slow too. A customer who found you through a cost guide in March may ring in June. That suits SEO over paid ads for planned work: a page that answers the question keeps answering it, month after month, without a cost per click. Repairs and urgent work behave differently, and we come to that below.
Someone typing how much an extension costs in Ireland has not chosen a builder yet. A plain guide on your site, honest about what moves the price and what a site visit settles, puts your name in front of them weeks before the competition hears about the job.
Builders Drogheda, extension builders near me, attic conversion Swords: the map results answer these from your Google Business Profile; the organic results answer them from a page on your site for that service in that town. You need both, and the page has to be written for the place, not copied with the name changed.
Your name followed by the word reviews. Letting a builder into the house for months is a trust decision before it is a price decision. Recent Google reviews, project pages that show the work from start to finish, and your registration and insurance details stated plainly are what win this search.
Strip the jargon out and contractor SEO is a short list. A Google Business Profile set up as a service-area business, with the address hidden and the towns you cover listed, so the map results work for you where you are based. A page on your site for each kind of work you want more of, extensions, renovations, attic conversions, new builds, each in the towns you serve, written from what you actually did there.
Project pages that show a job from the first photo to the last, because that is what the customer's third search is looking for. Your name, address and phone number identical across the Irish directories that matter. Titles and descriptions written so a person clicks, a sitemap Google can read, and pages that load fast on a phone.
What it should not include is a page for every town in the country with the name swapped, links bought from sites nobody reads, or a report full of impressions dressed up as searches. Our guide to local SEO in Ireland covers the signals that move a local ranking, and our local SEO service is the version of this list we run for clients.
Long research, a shortlist, then a call. This is where SEO earns its keep: cost guides and service pages catch the customer early, and project pages close the trust gap. A site built for this keeps bringing enquiries without a cost per click, which is why the websites we build for builders and contractors are planned around service and area pages from the start.
No research, no shortlist, the first trustworthy number gets the job. Here the Business Profile and the phone number matter more than any page, and Google Ads can put you at the top today while the organic work builds. A Wexford plumbing and heating company we run ads for took 51 enquiries from Google Ads in September 2026.
A position on a ranking chart is not a job. The number to ask any agency for is the count of enquiries the site took in a month, what was counted, and what the month before looked like. A Dublin driveway and tarmac company we run search for took 43 enquiries in September 2026 from its website, counted as phone taps, WhatsApp taps and quote forms, from 1,139 visits from Google in the same month. That is the shape of a report worth paying for: a number, a month and a method, so you can hold it against what one job is worth to you.
Tell us the kind of work you want more of and the areas you cover. We come back with a straight plan for your site, your Business Profile and your search, a monthly figure and no lock-in.
